At McGaffic Advertising & Marketing, our motto is: Ideas That Bring Results.
What’s an idea? According to Webster’s New World dictionary, an idea is something one thinks, knows or imagines.
What ideas bring results? At McGaffic Advertising & Marketing, we have developed numerous ideas that have generated results for our clients. Here are just a couple of our ideas that have produced results:
*Shaker Woods Festival*
As owners of the Ferguson’s Farm and Market in Columbiana, Ohio, Sam and Sue Ferguson were presented with a unique idea by Ken McGaffic in 1982. His suggestion was to have an apple festival to stimulate business.
Sam and Sue thought it was a good idea, so they agreed to try Ken’s idea. The event was staged at the market location on Route 7 in Columbiana with seven crafts booths, a live band and an apple-baking contest. The response to the event was phenomenal!
With a 75-acre plot nearly, the Shaker Woods Festival was born. Sue had always marveled at the craftsmanship of the religious group that came to be known as the Shakers. As the Fergusons made trips to local libraries to dig up information on the Shakers, McGaffic began placing advertising for the event.
The first Shaker Woods Festival drew 20,000 people during a single weekend. Today, there are 200 exhibitors who don traditional 18th -century and Shaker garb. Crafters demonstrate their unique skills without the use of modern conveniences - not even electricity.
According to Sue Ferguson, people from 38 states have come to the Shaker Woods Festival. Every year, interest in the festival grows. The Fergusons sold their market several years ago to concentrate on the festival.
